Gather, eat, drink and celebrate!

Thornfalcon is a forty-acre working farm, vineyard and winery in a beautiful corner of Somerset, between Taunton and Ilminster.

For hen parties, birthdays and special occasions, we offer private vineyard tours and wine tastings, with the option to add a delicious brunch or lunch, expertly made by the chefs at The Kitchen Garden Somerset using the freshest seasonal ingredients from local producers in our newly restored Red Barn.

It's a chance to bring everyone together around great food and wine, explore the vines and orchards, see behind the scenes in the winery and taste the drinks we make here.

Join us for a tour and tasting, with a delicious brunch to start the day, or leisurely lunch after your tour in the Red Barn or amongst the vines. And as these events usually celebrate someone special, the hen or person we're feting is welcomed for free.

Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting

Come behind the scenes at Thornfalcon for a private tour of the vineyard, orchards and winery, followed by a guided tasting of our wines and ciders.

We'll walk the land, through our two vineyards and old cider orchards, before heading into the winery and press. En route we'll talk about what we're growing, why we've chosen particular grape varieties, how we make our wines and ciders, and what we've learnt from establishing a new winery here in Somerset.

We'll finish with a tasting of Thornfalcon's hand crafted drinks range in the Red Barn.

Brunch, Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting

Brunch in the Red Barn, private vineyard, orchard and winery tour, and guided wine and cider tasting.

Start the day with brunch around the table in Thornfalcon's atmospheric Red Barn. A typical menu may include coffee, croissants, bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, avocado and bacon, smashed avocado, tomato, halloumi, BLT, a fruit plate and Thornfalcon apple juice - tailored to your needs.

After brunch, we'll take you through the vineyards and orchards and behind the scenes in the winery and cider press, finishing with a guided tasting of Thornfalcon wines and ciders.

Lunch or Dinner with a Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting

For a longer experience at Thornfalcon, combine a private tour and tasting with lunch or dinner in the Red Barn.

We'll take you through the vineyards and orchards, into the winery and cider press, and talk you through the growing, making and blending behind Thornfalcon's drinks. The tour ends with a guided tasting before sitting down together for lunch or dinner.

Celebrating the best seasonal and local produce is at the heart of our ethos at Thornfalcon. We work with brilliant chefs at The Kitchen Garden Somerset and range of local growers and producers, shaping our menus by the season and the best ingredients available from our kitchen garden, the farm and across Somerset.

Choose between generous sharing platters for the table or a three-course lunch or dinner. Menus will vary through the year and we'll talk through the options with you when you book. Lunch and dinner parties are served in the Red Barn.

£70–£110 per person, depending on menu.

 

A day at Thornfalcon

There's plenty to explore at Thornfalcon, and the farm is home to two vineyards, ancient cider orchards, meadows, woodland and a two-acre wildlife lake. Our winery and cider press sit at the heart of the farm, where winemaker Panu Long hand crafts Thornfalcon's small-batch wines, fine ciders and pressed apple juice.

Our vineyard tours are deliberately small and personal. You'll be shown around by those who grow the fruit and make the drinks, with time to ask questions, taste and understand what goes into every bottle.

If you're joining us for brunch or lunch, Thornfalcon's majestic Red Barn event space gives your group a beautiful private space to dine. Thornfalcon wines and ciders can also be ordered by the bottle, as well as a selection of white and red wine. Come and join us to celebrate someone you love.

 

Getting here

Thornfalcon is in the small village of Thornfalcon, between Taunton and Ilminster in South West Somerset. We're ten minutes from Junction 25 of the M5 and around fifteen minutes from Taunton railway station, making the vineyard easy to reach from Bristol, Exeter and across the South West. 

All hen party experiences are private and booked in advance.
